Grrrr... was just playing a game of Hiigaran vs 5 easy Vagyr for kicks, and the d**n game crashed to desktop right as things were getting interesting.
I found the game was pretty easy.. I just progressed through anti fighter defenses that included Refineries, upgraded MShip, Gunship Corvettes till Minegun. Kept everything at home, till I had a shipyard, and had captures the mining base. After that, money came easy, and I started poping out Juggs, Ion Destroyers, and Battle Cruisers.
Leaving a squad of Mineguns + various gun/pulse/ion platforms to defend my base with a Battlecruiser.. I then took my MShip along with another Battlecruiser, 3 ion destroyers, 2 tulwar frigs, and a plethora of Corvettes (Gun, Minegun, Kopesh) on my offensive strike. Oh, and had sent about 5 juggs off in 5 seperate directions, ya know...to say hi to my neibors. hehe
Just as the first CPU was succumbing to the war machine, whack...crash to desktop.. sigh. Anyhow, it was an interesting game. The main means to fighting that many opponenst was just MASS anti-fighter abilities. Which pushed me so high in honor so fast, it just wasent even funny. Sometimes I think games where I'm attacked hard and fast from the start are actually easier, since I don't have to crawl through the honor ranks.
Till next episode... /waves

Victorious Hiigaran VS 5 standard Vagyr.
1:32 to win. It was a weird game.. this time I left my MShip at home, just so I could play around with Battle Cruisers, since most games we never progress that far along.
It was a nice change of pace. Though, the game was purely defensive till I went offensive..then the computers just got steamrolled one after another.
I think BC's are just over all more of a pain to micro manage. They are still fun once in awhile. And when upgraded, they move pretty quick.
I messed around some using strike forces too this game, something I rarely bother with. Usually I had a strike force of 1 BC, 3-5 IDestroyers, and a mix of Kopesh&Shiries. Though, I think one could completely skip the shiries, and use mineguns instead of kopesh.
The game was actually kind of disapointing.. I lost more of my ships to the few explosions that I wasen't quick enough to pull my corvettes away from, than the computer(S) killed all together. I guess since I've beaten 5 standards, and 3 hard..the next attempt will be 4 hards. That ought to be brutal. Maybe playing the turtle defense will be how it has to be to win that.
Oh, and in this particular game, I actually got all the way to Fleet Admiral rank, and very nearly used all the pilots and officers. hehe. Craziness. hehe.

Everyone quit playing? Haven't heard any responses or new tales of space conquest in awhile.
Well, just tried Hiigaran vs 5 teamed Hard Vagyr. All was well, made it all the way to fleet admiral, took out one enemy, and was successfully defending my base while maneuvering to kill the rest. Game crashed :/ ..sigh. My poor computer just has a really tough time handling all the debri and ships. So could have won too. Against that many opponents, you pretty much just anti-fighter turtle till late game, when you have enough Battle Cruisers and Destroyers to hold the fort AND go after the enemy Production ships.

5 hards seem doable... (assuming the game does'nt crash), however 3 experts fricken demolish. It starts out well enough. In fact, one can even get some momentum going, so that it 'feels' like your on the verge of kicking butt..then wham... So much crap, that even though its all small stuff + a few frigates at first... your just overrun. jeepers. all I can say. Jeepers.
Give it a spin sometime and let me know how the experience varies.

Hiigaran vs 3 Expert Vagyr. Okay.. tried this a few times now.. It's brutal. let me restate that. Its feffin brutal. geh. I die horribly each time I try it. I've made some progress though. This last game I managed to survive for an hour and 7 minutes before all my ship producing 'production' ships were killed. I even out perform the computers in killing over all. This last game, I killed 230 enemy ships, to their killing 72 of mine. However... they produced 625 ships, compared to my 72 ships. hahaha. The most aggresive I managed to be, was I lead one 8 bomber squad run against one enemies base, taking out a defense module, and the two corvete facilities on the two carriers he had. That was with bombers upgraded on plasma bombs, 1 dmg upgrade, and speed upgrade. Lost the whole squad though, and was never able to build any other ships for offense again. I seemed to have better luck keeping my research/crew station alive leaving them in parade formation, than moving them to the back side of my resourcing operation. I used to send them to the edge of the map, but have had the computer 'auto' find them before doing that, so started keeping them at home. I can stand losing the research ship mid way in the game..usually by then, I've got 'most' of what I need to defend myself. However, losing the crew station pretty much means the games going to be going down hill. Same with losing your carrier, because vs that many computers, your just swamped with enemy ships. Anyhow, try it if your looking for a humbling experience. And if you do better, post yer results Hopefully we'll get to the point of beating 3 experts.. I don't think I've heard of anyone on the Complex forums being able to. I think 2 even puts the lot of us in the not notch
