If you are not an avid camper, TARGET is one of the most reasonable places to buys a tent. The quality is acceptable and the price is great. Avoid WALMAT for most of your tent needs. Their other camping stuffs are okay, but the tents are not so good. If you want to put down a little extra money for either a really good tent that will last, and/or easier construction go with REI, but you pay for the convenience. Most of the rest of your camping needs ie the kitchen between the Manning's and the Robinson's we are covered.

we got our tent at Academy, and it was very reasonably priced (i think i paid 38.95). It sleeps 3 and holds a queen sized air mattress with plenty of room for backpacks or duffle bags next to the mattress. It's 4' high in the center.
you might want to consider a tarp to put underneath the tent when you set it up. keeps the moisture off the bottom of the tent and if it rains there is a barrier against the mud.
Between Adonna and me, we usually bring enough food to feed not only a roman legion, but alexander the great's army as well!

see now here I was thinking go go cabin rental ok, well we'll need to check the status of our tent and pick up a few things, but let me know what dates you land on. I'm racking up frequent flier miles like a lunatic this month and ideally we'd like to go before it gets too hot since Carter doesn't do so well in extreme heat.

I always heard promises were meant to be broken, but I'm sure would be cheap to buy..

TODAY!!!
Actually, I will try to get Friday off so we can claim a good campsite, but we usually head out Friday after work, set up camp, eat dinner and just chill for the evening. Saturday we usually get up and eat breakfast, go hiking or to the lake or SCUBA, or whatever, take a lunch break, more fun, then dinner and either just relaxing or games (usually card), then wake up Sundday, have breakfast, break camp and head home. Then again, there is rarely a set schedule, so it comes down to what ever works out best.
Teri, how is visibility this time of year at the lake?

BTW, we also usually do group food. We have a common menu, Adonna and I go shopping (Sams and the grocery store), and then split the cost with everyone eating. If you would prefer to bring your own food, that is cool as well, but this way tends to make it easier on everyone, and everyone can chip in and help cook and clean up. If you are interested in a group menu, let me know and I will organize it.

i won't be there until Saturday morning since I have pool session friday evening. Well maybe I could leave friday night after the pool session. Is anyone leaving saturday evening? It would prevent us from having to take 2 vehicles since Mike will have to watch the shop saturday.
Visibility this time of year is around 15' provided no one touches the bottom or the platforms.

Teri,
I won't be able to leave until late Friday or Saturday AM as I will be flying in late Fri night. Does that help?
