Very awsome:) hehe. Maybe sometime in Febuary we can have a real LAN party as a game day. So if you're interested and able, everyone should try to play this a little bit before then to get used to it.
I figure if we have a day of it, we can play together vs the computer at first to learn/brush up. Then afterwards we'll do player vs player teams. Maybe 2vs2vs2 or 3vs3 or however it works out:)
Yummy! hah.

I played a quick game over the weekend, and really like some of the new features. No time to get into the details, but if you like the game, you should definitely check it out!!!

I actually played Vagyr and did fairly well (I won, but it took a while because of the slower research).

Vagyr have always been the stronger team, especialy in Complex

I still like Higarin better after playing them both in 6.1...

Vagyr are not so strong now.. They still retain their 'style' of play.. IE, easier options, less complicated research path, etc. However... between their research being slowed down as you get higher up the tree & the statistical retune of the various ships combat ability, I think finally Vagyr may be a little less 'easy win'. Which is a good thing, since that allowed them to add a couple of really cool super capital class ships to the high end line up without unbalancing them:) Playing complex is going to be crazy in multiplayer.. I can't wait! Perhaps a day in Febuary we can try to put together an honest to goodness LAN party we'll pair the teams off so that its as fair as can be, then we'll tangle:) Should be a blast.

I have played around with it some (Higarin only), but most of the new stuff dosn't seem practical to use in a compeditive game.

True for some of the bigger stuff, but resource management is a little better and there are some other new useful features...

The old strategies we used before don't really apply quite the same anymore. But...there are new strategies. I think you'll find that there are now more methods of achieving victory as well as a lot more tactical decisions. Gooooood stuff. Not all of it immediately apparent, but it is there:)

I played twice over the weekend. In one game I focused too much on research and got toasted over about 45 minutes (I didn't dies, but I gave up when they pretty much destroyed everything I made as soon as it was made. )
The second game was exactly the same on a different map, but when I made my first assault, the computer had only built 1 probe, so my exploratory group was able to kill the mothership. Has anyone else run into this? Is it just a glitch?
