So, any ideas on balancing Vagyr?
I'd like to see the Vagyr 'complexed' so that they are more equal overall in power to the Hiigaran without losing their 'style' of combat difference from the Hiigarans.
I'd also like to see some new ships for them, that will give them some variety and interesting options on par with all the crazy extra ships and upgrades the Hiigaran's get.
But the question remains.. How exactly.
So lets chat about possibilities and ideas. Maybe we can deliver the best ideas to Beghins, the developer of complex. Or maybe get involved in advancing the development of the complex project ourselves.

Vagyr really have no 'new' capital class ships at all.
Idea#1 - Penitration Destroyer I'd like to something like a vagyr destroyer chasis that uses some kind of red ion beam.. None of the vagyr tech uses ion stuff at all. But they do have 'lasers' ... So have it do a single, non swiveling forward firing 'red' laser ion or something.. Make it kind of like a 'extra large' version of the hiigaran ion frigate. With the same type of strengths weakness, just scaled up.. and 'vagyrfied. That would fit in line with the Vagyr's 'forward firing' style, which is strong on offense, but weak when engaged in dog fighting battles. Make it particularly strong, but exceptionally low range, slow to fire.. and with terrible manueverability. hehe.. we can call it the 'penitrator'
I dunno. I don't think it would be redundant in its class or the lower classes of shipping. the only thing is, Vagyr tech would need to be 'complexed' so that Battlecruisers coulden't be built so early and quickly, in order to justify the need for a 'destroyer' of that type. Just adding that unit in the current Vagyr tech lineup, would be a waste.

Idea#2 - Swarm Cruiser It would be cool if the vagyr a kind of 'swarmer' unit, kind of like in homeworld one.. Remember the unit that had no offensive power at all, but released autonomous fighters that would swarm and shoot down incoming fire...
Something like that, except aggressive. Have it be a capital size ship.. either a big destroyer or small carrier model, that you would fly escort duty with your exsisting force. The swarm would actively shoot down anti fighter bullets or something like that.. It would work kind of like a Vagyer defense field frigate... except it only protected against anti fighter fire. Didn't block any heavy guns/beam weapons.
Would fall in line with the type of thing we already see with vagyr..like the command corvette.. things that escort and add 'effects' to an exsisting force.
I think also this would give the Vagyr additional reason to rely on small ships again, as opposed to the total utter answer to everything 'Battlecruiser' force the vagyr end up fielding as their only late game option.

I really like the swarm idea, it would need to be something like in Starcraft with the Protos Carrier.
Basically you would have some ridiculously cheep fighter that was unique to the hive ship, and you had to build them for it…there would be a cap that you could build (like 20 or so) and then as they are destroyed you just built more, but they are crazy cheep. They would have a near instant launch and you had no direct control over them, and they cost no population…like a drone fighter or something. You can direct the hive ships attack which would send all the fighters after a single target, but that is all the control you would have. If the hive ship is destroyed then the fighters would fight for a little bit but then would explode after a bit of time.
