It seems that we have had a pretty good discussion so far on teh different games, so what do you guys like best so far based on what has been said?
Option 1: The Original Idea – Mafia Style
Option 2: Garrett’s Mafia Variant
Option 3: Garrett’s Loop Killer Game
Option 4: Adonna’s Draw the Killer Variant
Option 1: The Original Idea – Mafia Style
One person is the "killer" and has a bundle of light red ribbons or scarves. His job is to discreetly kill every body at the party; one at a time. The idea is to have our own scary/horror film. You know like Friday the 13th, Scream, or Halloween. When he makes a kill, he describes the death and gives them a red scarf they wear the rest of the night. Each hour the scared party members gang up and kill the person they think is the killer. If they succeed, then the killing stops. If they are wrong, then sooner or later someone will die again.
Option 2: Garrett’s Mafia Variant
We could also have multiple killers with different weapons, so that when someone dies, we will know the means (i.e., knife, gun, grenade, etc). This way, even though the killers are anonymous, the 'citizens' would be able to tell which crimes were committed by which weapon. The killers would not work together, but separate. They would not even know who the other killers were, and they could in fact kill each other. I could imagine finding one of the killers dead on the ground at the hands of another killer. The dead killer might have a knife in his pocket (his/her means for killing people). We would then know that one killer has been killed, and who that killer killed (based upon the weapon in his/her pocket).
Option 3: Garrett’s Loop Killer Game
Garrett also suggested a variant in which everyone has a target they are trying to kill and the. When you kill your target, you take their target as your next target. The one that has made the most kills wins.
Option 4: Adonna’s Draw the Killer Variant
We could have a bowl of names. When you get to the party if you want to participate you put your name in the bowl, if you don't, no worries. When the game begins you draw from the bowl, your enemy, and one slip in the bowl will indicate the "killer" who can choose their first victim, thus starting the chain reaction of death.
