Ok folks...here it is...pictures from bottling day. 48 clean and sanitized bottles just waiting to be lovingly filled Mike helped me take the top off the fermenter and here is what fermented wort (flat beer basically) looks like: Now it's time to siphon the beer into the bottling bucket with the racking cane: I'm holding the siphon hose as close to the bottom of the bottling bucket as possible to reduce splashing. At this stage it is bad for the beer to be exposed to too much oxygen. It smells SOOOOO GOOOOOD I couldn't resist putting my nose close to the edge. I only did it once, I promise. The fermenter is almost empty.. And the bottling bucket filling up The yeast layer at the bottom of the fermenter was about over an inch deep! I only started with about 1 t a b l e s p o o n or so of yeast. Ok the fermenter is empty and the bottling bucket has 5 gallons of Stout in it. Filling 48 bottles took quite a while. Fortunately the filling wand made it easy and reduced splashing Now that all of the bottles are filled it is time to put on caps Whew! That was easier than I thought it would be TA DA! My first bottle of homebrewed beer It will be ready to try in about 2-4 weeks.

Teri, that's absolutely fantastic. Of course, seeing the Bud Light box behind you in the last picture cast doubt on the whole project So at this point, the wait time is like... what... a couple weeks?
