Anyone else watch the start of the mini-series last night? I thought it was really good and an interesting take on a modern Oz. Little predictable, but what else is new?

Okay Star Trek Geek here. But the only Tin Man episode I have ever seen was on STNG and they were refering to an alien "ship" that befriended a betazoid.

I watched a very short bit of it, and heard about the premise. It looked pretty interesting.

i watched the whole thing all the way through. it was an interesting take on the whole 'Wizard of Oz". it annoyed me to no end that they kept referring to "The O.Z." Understood that it was supposed to be a sort of poke at Oz, but with all of the 'pretty people' ... The O.C. it was.... annoying. i did enjoy the story-line, however. a lot of neat and interesting ways to change up the story. the special effects, the races, the sets... really cool. I thought the Lollipop Guild being turned into Abberiginal (sp?) Ewoks was kind of funny. it was fun, very much a Sci-Fi channel movie. crappy ending. it just kind of stopped. Like the writers got to the resolution and figured that was enough. Thuh End. the flying monkeys were *way* cool.

FYI, the name Oz came from the author looking at his filing cabinet and seeing the O - Z drawer. Thus the name Oz was born. Anyway, I haven't seen it yet, so I don't know what they were referring to, but it might also be a bit of hommage to the creation of the name of Oz as well.

well, they called it 'the O.Z.' as it was 'the Outer Zone'. it made sense, but it was too close to 'the O.C.'... like it was night time drama. I expected everyone to start back stabbing each other and having all sorts of 'sexual relations'. it was annoying to me. Toto was cute.

Sol, I totaly agree...I got a little cringe each time they said O.Z. too at first but by the end of the series I got use to it. I really enjoyed it for what it was (as sol said it was very much a made for Sci Fi Channel movie).
