I was looking around the internet for some decent dive areas fairly close to us and saw the site for Lake Travis was up. www.windypointpark.com/scuba.asp It appears they are still active as new rates will be going into effect next week and they have the current weather conditions and water temperature up. I would love to go back to Travis. We could even get a couple of deep dives in and maybe a night dive. In a month, teh water should begin to be bearable... ;D I know, I know, Memorial day weekend will be busy, but I bet if we get this together and get reservations with enough people for 2 - 3 sites, we can insulate ourself from the other campers and still have a great weekend. I imagine most of us have Monday off or can get it off with a month's notice, so we could enjoy a long weekend. It also looks like the dive shop will not have any training dives that weekend (if I looked at the calendar correctly). Personally, I think this would be a great trip, awesome dives, and a lot of fun! Sooooo...... Who's interested in camping Memorial day weekend?

Doh! Cozumel (See the Dive Monster Scuba Section) is scheduled for this weekend. Can't afford Cozumel, but I would still like to go camping with anyone not planning on going on an AWESOME dive trip... Sorry Mike & Teri... but you guys can still "sponsor" the trip (see my other post about advertising) even if you won't be able to go. We will make sure the sticker goes on the wall.

Mike and I are not going to Cozumel. The trip leader's spot needs to be filled by an instructor and it has already been filled by one of the other instructors. But I am going to Bonaire as the trip leader! interestingly enough clear springs scuba park is always dead on the holiday weekends. That may not hold true with a place like Lake Travis though. I will just be getting back from the Bonaire trip that saturday of the memorial day weekend. So chances are high that I will not want to campout that weekend anyway. Having just returned from all that beautiful blue water diving to get into that lake BLEH (help! help! i'm turning into a dive snob!! ) Seriously though, I will probably be tired (since I do plan on diving at least 4 times a day like I did last time I was there). I'll talk to Mike, he may enjoy getting away and hanging out down there with everyone, and I can bore everyone to tears talking about all great diving I did in Bonaire <grin>. There is a new type of dive charter out at Lake Travis. It's off a pontoon type boat and they take you to dive sites not accessible by shore. If you think you would be interested in more info, let me know.

That sounds cool. I would be interested in more info. Do you have a link? What is at the sites? How deep are they? What is the cost on it?

Austin on holiday weekends scares the crap out of me. I used to hole up on the holidays when I lived down there to avoid the crazies.

Last minute enquiry... is this still on in any way shape or form?
I still work Saturday, and think we're playing D&D sat night. Does that mean there is possibly a Sun-Monday trip/camp/dive thing going on?

No dive/camping trip planned, but is anyone interested in going to the park or lake for a family Bar-B-Q? No plans yet, but would be easy enough to pull together.
