Hey Chadonna, thanks for the space to talk about the trip. For those of you who are divers, or who could be before November 3rd, we have put together a trip to Nassau, Bahamas that will allow us to go diving with some sharks. More details are on our website, but I will list a couple highlights here. more info: www.divemonsterscuba.com/travel.phpThe dive shop we are going to dive with is called Stuart Cove's Dive Bahamas, and the shark program is called a Shark Adventure. They do this Shark Adventure everyday, so the sharks are conditioned to come running when the boats arrive because they know they are going to be fed. BTW, the sharks are conditioned to being fed fish, not divers. dive shop: dive-bahamas.comI tried to find a quality, clean hotel that offers something to do for any non-divers that come along and does not cost much. I found a plan that lets each person stay for as many days as they want to pay for. For example, the cheapest way you could go would be to get three people in a room that stayed three days in the hotel, and did just one day of diving with the sharks. This would cost $288 per person. That's just hotel and diving. Other price options are on the divemonster website. I still want to see if I can find a deal on air fares. The resort is pretty big. It has a casino, video game room, theater, 8 restaurants, and a bunch of other stuff. Resort: www.wyndham.com/hotels/NASBS/main.wntIt will be a lot of fun. I hope some of you can go.

it's well worth the extra $60. I had to expedite mine and it came in just shy of 10 buisness days.

How much is the shark specialty?
When do we have to have the money to you?

Man this trip sounds awsome. I dunno if I'll be able to swing it..but I'd love to if I could. I have my pre requisites for my passport aquired (Birth Cert & pictures), but haven't sent off for it yet. Not sure how my money will be by then either, so at least for me its very tentative. If I get all my situations sorted out timely like, I'd like to go. But... for me, it may not happen. I'll be working alot in the next few months..so hopefully I can swing it all:)

How much is the shark specialty? I'm going to try not to make this confusing. Basically the Shark Adventure costs $145. But the dive package you buy includes diving, and the more days you dive the cheaper the dives get. When you do the Shark Adventure the cost is $145 minus what you already paid for 1 day of diving. There is a chart on the travel page that shows how much to add for the Shark Adventure. It ranges from $66 to $82. The Shark Adventure is not a PADI specialty. It is just a fun dive with sharks. There is some more information that I have not put on the travel page yet because I am still trying to get the straight poop from Stuart Cove. There is another program called Shark Awareness that actually will give you a PADI specialty. (you get knowledge, a certification and a patch!) There are two ways to do the academics: at home or on the island. When doing the home study version of the specialty it costs $185. The island classroom version costs $335. We should be able to subtract the cost of 1 day's diving that is already paid for in the package, but I am still checking with Stuart Cove to make sure my math is right. When do we have to have the money to you? We need a deposit of $100 per person by Sept 3rd, and the total by Oct 1st. Ty, My opinion is that vacations should be an adventure, not a burden. It would be fun if you can swing it, but don't kill yourself trying to make it happen.

Cool. Unless something drastic happens, I should be good to go. Adonna won't be going this time, but will definitely go on future trips. It would really help out if I could find a room mate or two. Also, I would only be going for 5 days, 3 diving days, but plan on getting the Shark Awareness Specialty!
