OK, rather than spend the day on the phone saying the same thing a gazillion times, let's discuss it here. That way it is spelled out quite plainly who's doing what. hopefully the "internet challenged" can find their way here are we doing s'mores? are we doing foil paks? if so, shall we divide up who brings what? what about breakfast goodies? breakfast burritos again or what? who's bringing their little portable grill? (I can, but i will probably be showing up around 7:00 saturday evening) coffee makings...oh yeah i'm all over that edit: grrrr!! stupid grammar

Ohhh, we have been watching Alton Brown too much but we have some great ideas for some new recipes. There are several Stuffed Fish, Philly Cheese Sandwiches, hmmm I think I forgetting another. But you know me I LOVE foil packs, and we are really nailing it on preparing them correctly.

oooh new recipes are so much fun! do you want share the burden of the ingredients? that would only be fair. or do you want to work it so that each camper family fends for themselves? for example instead of me bringing 16 breakfast burritos i would only bring 3 or 4 <shrug>
if i do bring massive amounts of breakfast burrito again i promise to use mild cheese and not the pepper stuff

From our experience it is easier to have group food and everyone just contribute money. But we are not pushy for it, if everyone wants a free for all that is fine with us.
For group food we have to decide on the menu first, then we will put together the shopping list. Whoever wants to join us we usually shop the Wednesday or Thursday before the trip. Friday we put the food together for easy cooking and pack it in ice and we are good to go.

I'm loathe to speak for Laure, but she won't use the boards sooooo. I believe she generally likes most of the food we get as group food, with a few exceptions. Mainly any dish that is heavy meat. IE. If we can reduce cost by not buying pounds of meat for her and I Basically, just a touch more vegi oriented for her. Though of course if you're just buying X amount in bulk, there is really not much to do about that. So don't sweat it. I'll try to come shopping or something, since her taste is hard to easily quantify in specifics. And even though I'm not picky about the paying/buying arrangments, I do enjoy getting to be picky and help shop. Sooooo.. if its doable, I'll come help shop when its time. If not, then we'll deal or bring a few things of extra. Which is usually what I do for variety. ~cheers

Thanks for the post. I gather we can't head out for a site on Friday so we will have to Leave Saturday Morning. That means Breakfast on Saturday is up to you. Lunch can be on the road premade or bought.
Saurday Dinner
Foil Packs Phillicheese Steaks Sandwiches Steak Hamburgers
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Sunday Breakfast
Pancakes, Eggs, & Bacon Breakfast Burritos Biscuits & Gravy & Sausage
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We can have lunch on the road back.
We will also have to buy for all the snacks needed for after dive recovery times. I can make some jerky. Fruit is a given with our kids, we can get some crackers. What else would you guys want to snack on?
We will bring our big water jug with lots of ice to keep us hydrated. It is going to be hot so I don't think we should plan on a lot of sugary drinks or carbonated for that matter. We don't have a Sun Brewed Tea Jar but if anyone does that would be a good alternative.

I'm loathe to speak for Laure, but she won't use the boards sooooo. so we have to spend our time on the phone with her because she won't use the boards. How is that fair to the rest of us who make the effort? Please don't reply as that is a rhetorical question.

model diver yeah. I wish I can say that was really what I was thinking, but we are more concerned with teaching our kids about good things to eat and loosing a bit of weight ourselves. What about the other meals, what is everyones vote or do you just want us to pick. this is adonna, Chad forgot to log out.

i will bring zuccini and yellow squash fresh from a friend's garden to make a squash dish over the cooking fire for saturday evening. and everyone is welcome to partake of the evil squash dish.
I'm hoping it will be okay to close the shop a little early to get there sooner rather than later. i don't like putting up a tent after the sun sets.
as for snacks we will cover our own since we get there so much later than everyone else.

Sorry, I have been way out of pocket this week with work stuff. I probably won't have a lot of time to get on here until this weekend. Anyway, it might be easier to discuss the menu in person. Maybe we could swing by the shop tonight before you close and go over it all real quick (that's if you don't have a class scheduled or something).
Ty, If Mike and Teri and cool with us comming over, would you (Ty & Laure) be able to stop by as well?

There is no class tonight, so that will be okay. Any idea what time you might be there?

I just realized that I haven't posted the menu/shopping list yet. I will get it up today.
If anyone wants to go shopping with me, I would like to go out tonight. Probabl;y @7:30. I will need to hit Sams, Albertsons, and Sprouts (for the granola)

I don't mind coming with to help Chad. Though, I'm at work till 7:00ish. If your positive you'll be shopping closer to 7 than 8, would you be willing to pick me up from my work to come with? (Laure has Yoga at 7:30pm anyway, and would be rushed to get me)
Or if you're thinking to be shopping closer to 8 than 7, Laure could drop me off at my house/your house maybe on her way to Yoga.
Lemme know.
