As October draws near, I thought it would be a good idea to start planning our halloween party. I would like to get some discussion as to what you guys would like to do this year. So...
Are there any "themes" you want to do? (decorations, costumes, food, etc)
Do we want to do costumes this year?
Are you guys interested in doing this a week earlier on the 21st so that everyone can attend the parties with churches, family, etc? (or trick or treating for the kiddo's)
Are you interested in going to a couple of local haunted houses then returning to the house for a real party? (Meet at 6:00 - 7:00, hitting a couple of houses, being back by 10:00, and then getting our food and drink on)
Is there any special activities/games/contests you would like to see/do? (bobbing for apples, costume contests, ect)
Are you guys into watching a horror film (or having one running in the background) at the party? (maybe even after we return from the Haunted Houses?)
What other thoughts and ideas do you have?

Christina and I are interested in going to some haunted houses. I'd like to visit at least three this year.
As for the party, I enjoy the mystery themes. If we decided to go this route, then we should have more 'unique roles' to help encourage people to participate.

Chad has a great idea about a "mystery Theme" for the halloween party. and I would like to go to haunted houses but the kids probably would be cool with that so I'll hang back if you go. Billy wouldn't handle a haunted house well, he would have nightmares for weeks I bet. He is convinced that the fire alarms hold back the bugs in our house and if they go off it not a fire but their release. It was a funny conversation, maybe you had to be there.

I love haunted houses.. and will willingly make time to go anytime. Going as a group will be more problematic, just because of schedualling, and driving, and just the larger the group, the more difficult. So though open to going in small groups, I don't really mind if we don't do that on the night of the party. I like doing the party early, because I enjoy tagging along with the kiddos when they trick or treat Nostalgia of youth, and enjoy being the wierd uncle Love decorations, LOVE the idea of some creepy old scary movie in the background, LOVE costume contests, Games are fun. Mystery theme is cool if we can pull it off, but really I'd rather save that for another time since were already so close to holloween. This way if any arn't into the 'mystery' type games, they won't feel left out of this a more 'general' holiday. Yet, if we can do it, you'll not hear any complaints from me As a matter of fact, I doubt you'd hear any complaints for me over anything. It'll just be nice to see everyone, have a good time, and enjoy dressing up. hehe. Looking forward to it.. Let me know what I can do to help.

Due to excessive protest from a certain sister of mine, she wanted me to see if there was any conflict with having the party on the 28th (the weekend directly prior to halloween).
What do you guys think?

Yeah, Adonna said the same thing. I was considering doing the houses on a seperate night for those interested. Due to teh cost and possible lines we will have to wait in, it is probably not a good idea to try to sqeeze it in before the party.

If yall want some good haunted fun...
You can go on the Rachel Robert tour of burleson.
It involves gas... probably eating... and that is about it. Oh... and lots of walking.
