It should be getting hot by July, but this is a perfect weekend to go camping. We could go somewhere close like Ray Roberts and Spend the day at the swimming area and in a pavilion. Or... we could go somewhere more SCUBA friendly and spend one day diving. I was thinking of going down early and spending an extra day there. I was suggesting something close so anyone wanting to come and just hang out for an afternoon could come without being committed to staying the night. Anyone else interested?

I think that we would be all about going camping and swimming.

I'm down for either. If there is a way to do both, thats better. But just one or the other is just fine by me too.

No problem. Adonna and I are still discussing what the plan is. We may have a day of scuba, but it is more likely we will head down Thursday to set up, Friday may be the Scuba day, then Saturday and Sunday will be normal camping, maybe swimming and time at the beach. More details to come later this month...

Adonna and I talked about this last night. We were thinking of making it a long trip and going some place real close like Lake Ray Roberts. We could stay at the camping near the beach/swimming area for a change.
If I remember correctly, they have pavillions over the picnic table and we could set up the shade tarp. It is close to the water and the play ground, as well as a big field and volleyball court (I think). If we really wanted to, we could check out scuba there, but I think it would just be cool to hang out and relax for the weekend.

this may not be a lake suitable for scuba, no divers i have spoken with (and I speak to alot) have considered diving in Ray Roberts. It may be because the visibility is -1" like lake lewisville. With all of the fools out there piloting boats it would probably be unsafe even with a dive buoy. Most boaters are downright ignorant and don't know the laws about the distance that is required between boat traffic and a dive buoy.

I figured as much. Like I sadi, Adonna and I were mainly looking at the camping and closeness aspect.

No, its good to know that since I really had no idea. I just know Ty had mentioned SCUBA in July so I wanted to see if it was an option.

It's easy to blame you. Everyone knows you are a SCUBA sleeper!!!

Hi again.. .well this would be the event Ty was talking to me about to join. I have the kids that weekend too so this would be something they would enjoy. If you went for the swimming/fun weekend maybe we could jump in with you guys. Sadly I cannot scuba although I wish I could.. might need to learn!

Kids are always welcome - at least we always bring ours. As we get closer, we will post more details, but we usually get food as a group to save cost (usually around $15 or so per person) and split the site cost, but everyone pays their own gate fees (if any).
See the June campout for a better idea of how it all comes together.
